High-Altitude Treks
Everest Base Camp, Zanskar crossing, Roopkund, Hampta Pass, and the Chadar frozen river walk — guided expeditions with expert mountaineers and premium high-altitude camping.
Curated travel formats for different ages, comfort needs, and group dynamics.
Gentlemen Holidays at Taro Voyages is an adventure travel service for men, covering trekking, golf tours, sports events, and cultural expeditions.
Family holidays are wonderful. But there are moments — weekends, milestone birthdays, the annual trip with the boys — when travel should be entirely on your terms. Your pace, your interests, your kind of adventure.
Gentlemen's holidays aren't about escaping responsibility. They're about investing in the experiences that refuel you, that push your limits, that create stories worth telling. A whitewater rafting expedition in the Zanskar. A private wine tour through Burgundy. A deep-sea fishing charter off the Maldives. A golf tour through Ireland's links courses.
We understand what makes a trip great for a group of men: no-nonsense logistics, accommodation with real character, activities with genuine depth, and the freedom to move at your own pace without being shepherded.
Whether you are celebrating a stag, a significant birthday, a reunion, or simply the fact that you've decided to finally take that trip — we build it exactly as it should be.
The difference between a good trip and a legendary one often comes down to two things: the quality of the crew and the quality of the plan. We can't control who you bring — that one is on you. But the plan? That we own completely. Every transfer, every booking, every permit, every reservation is handled before you land. You arrive, you experience, you depart with a story. That is the entire job description.
We have planned expeditions for decorated military veterans who wanted one more Himalayan challenge, for entrepreneurs celebrating exits with their closest friends, for reunions of IIT and IIM batchmates finally making good on promises made twenty years ago. Each group different, each trip shaped entirely around who they are. No templates, no off-the-shelf packages dressed up as bespoke.
The best trips aren't the ones you planned perfectly. They're the ones you remember forever.
Roopkund, locally called Mystery Lake or Skeleton Lake, is a high-altitude glacial lake in the Himalayas at 5,020 metres, set between Trishul peak at 7,120 metres and Nanda Ghunti peak at 6,310 metres, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Ringed by rock-strewn glaciers and snow-covered mountains, the lake is seldom more than 40 metres across and freezes over in winter.
Scotland forms the northern part of the island of Great Britain, together with adjacent islands principally in the Hebrides and the Northern Isles, and is one of the four countries of the United Kingdom. In 2022 its population was about 5.4 million, with Edinburgh as its capital and Glasgow as its largest city; Scotland borders England to the south, faces the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, the North Sea to the east and the Irish Sea to the southwest, and its devolved government is led by a first minister who chairs the cabinet.
The Monaco Grand Prix, run annually on the Circuit de Monaco since 1929, is a Formula One event held in late May or early June and is one of three races — alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans — that make up the Triple Crown of Motorsport. It is the only Grand Prix exempted from the FIA's mandated minimum race distance of 305 kilometres for Formula One events.

Absolutely — bachelor trips are some of our most creative projects. Tell us the groom's passions and the group's budget, and we design something truly memorable. We've done everything from a Goa beach party combined with a Scuba certification course to an Iceland Northern Lights expedition for a groom who'd always wanted to see the aurora. The weirder the brief, the better we like it.
We collect individual dietary requirements from all group members at the time of booking and pre-brief all accommodation, restaurants, and caterers. For high-altitude camping, we carry options for vegetarians, vegans, and those with nut allergies as standard. No one goes hungry or eats something they don't want — including camp meals at 4,400m.
Most of our gentlemen's packages work best for groups of 4–12. Solo and duo bookings are accommodated for premium packages (golf, F1, wine tours) at a small solo supplement. For treks, groups under 4 are generally fine — we sometimes combine small groups on popular routes if the group agrees.
For domestic high-altitude camping, we carry quality spirits (single malt Scotch is our standard) and craft beer as part of the camp experience. For treks above 4,000m, we recommend limiting alcohol consumption — altitude and alcohol do not mix well — but a celebratory single malt at the summit is a tradition we do not break.
Each trek listing comes with a fitness grading from 1 (easy) to 5 (extreme). Roopkund is graded 3–4 — moderate-to-challenging. We send a 6-week preparation guide on booking. For most treks, regular cardiovascular fitness (able to jog 5km comfortably) is sufficient. No technical climbing experience is required for any of our featured treks.
Our gentlemen's holidays are designed as single-gender experiences. We offer excellent dedicated family, couples, and mixed-group packages separately — each with its own focus and character. Some groups have planned 'combined' holidays where partners join at the beach end of a trek + resort combination. We can design that.
For all our gentlemen's packages, private vehicles are standard. Even for groups of 10, we use smaller private vehicles rather than large coaches. The experience always feels personal, not like a tour group.
Packages vary by circuit and tier. Our premium Abu Dhabi packages include Paddock Club access — the ultimate F1 hospitality experience with open bar and gourmet food — plus race weekend passes for all three days, a 5-star hotel within 15 minutes of Yas Marina Circuit, airport transfers, and curated city evenings including dhow cruises and desert outings.
This is one of our most popular formats. The classic: 8 days trekking in Nepal including Everest Base Camp, then 5 days at a Maldives luxury resort. Another favourite: Zanskar canyon rafting followed by 4 nights in Goa. We build the full combined itinerary seamlessly — including the logistics of getting from a mountain in northern India to a beach in 36 hours.
All adventure activities use licensed, insured operators vetted personally by our team. All trekking guides are certified by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) or the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI). River rafting operators hold ABAI certification. Overseas activities use operators licensed by their respective national outdoor education bodies.
Our most recommended entry point for men new to adventure travel is either the Hampta Pass trek in Himachal Pradesh (3 days, altitude 4,270m, spectacularly beautiful) or a Coorg white-water rafting weekend combined with homestay and coffee estate walks. Both are physically demanding enough to feel like real adventures but accessible enough to be completed comfortably.
Yes — for groups who want the trip documented properly, we can arrange a professional adventure photographer who travels with the group, shoots every key moment, and delivers a curated album within 10 days of your return. Several groups have turned these into beautiful printed books — a proper record of the trip.
Safety is non-negotiable. All our trek packages include emergency evacuation insurance and a clearly communicated evacuation protocol. Our mountain guides are trained in wilderness first aid. For high-altitude emergencies, helicopter evacuation is available from most Himalayan locations within 4–6 hours of a rescue call. We never take a group to altitude without full emergency protocols in place.
We handle this before departure, not during it. During the planning process, we survey all group members individually about expectations and preferences, then present a consensus itinerary that the trip organiser approves. On the ground, our local coordinator handles day-to-day flexibility — if two people want to sleep in while the others trek, we accommodate both with separate plans.
Send dates, travellers, preferred style, and the level of support you need. The team will return with a practical route and quote basis before any booking step.
