Himachal Pradesh
Shimla's colonial charm, Manali's adventure, Dharamshala's spirituality, and Spiti Valley's moon-like landscapes.
Nine days overland into Spiti Valley, one of the last great Himalayan frontiers — the world's highest post office at Hikkim, the 1,000-year-old monastery at Tabo, and Kaza's market town at 3,800m. Rough roads, thin air, and landscapes that shift from green Kinnaur valleys to Spiti's lunar-brown cliffs.
